Uniquely integrated into its multi-level site, HNTB's airport design includes a 125,000-SF terminal, concourse building, parking structure, air rescue fire fighting facility and a revised landside roadway system. The siting, reminiscent of the locale's mining heritage, allows the design to utilize the airport chapel as a central icon, drawing passengers from the lower level parking areas through a connector below the approach roadway.
