Located within the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood west of Cleveland, Arcadian Food & Drink, is a 4,621sq.ft. adaptive reuse project that exemplifies that great architecture can even be found in “smaller” projects. Residing amongst several theaters, galleries and local shops, the exterior itself of the Arcadian is helping to further activate the existing street-scape. The main design features that one can find within the Arcadian is a perforated metal screen that can be viewed exteriorly on the facade and throughout the interiors. Also, the interior is adorned with bamboo walls and surfaces, that paired with the darker accent tones and the white chairs and bar truly give this restaurant a modern feel. Many of the forms within the space intertwine and fold within each other giving a very dynamic, abstract feel to the interiors. One last highlight to the interiors is a living herb wall which the kitchen is able to gather fresh herbs from daily. (ArchDaily)
