Redesigned to be a light, airy space, the renovation at the Franklin Park Conservatory transformed the once heavy entrance into something fitting for the name Grand Atrium. With the relocation of the guest services area front and center in the lower level, the redesign of the entrance as two main doors instead of the feeling of it being a “side door”, the entrance, defined by a transparent, group-friendly foyer, is consolidated on axis with the grand atrium. With the main entrance previously opaque, the added transparency to the area allows visitors deeper views into the building. Additionally further improvements are that the ceilings now reach 14ft, and two, two-story green walls were installed along with a 2nd floor balcony for patrons to enjoy.
