Bringing attention to not only efficient design, but to the emotional relevance of the culture and identity of OSHP, the renovation and addition of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Columbus Academy improved both function and aesthetics. These aspects were achieved through an addition of a 300-seat auditorium, meeting space and offices for academy leadership; and a boardroom-style executive conference room. To honor the culture, a wall of remembrance and eternal flame were installed. With the main courtyard being entirely redesigned, the academy can now better host functions such as a parade deck.
