In 1969 Peter Aaron traveled to Bordeaux with an assignment from Alfred Knopf Publishers to illustrate a book Alexi Lichine was writing called Encyclopedia of Bordeaux Wines. Aaron covered many of the 64 grands cru, but the book never came to fruition.
