When Madeline Stuart took on the restoration of this 1930s Spanish Revival house, her goal was to create the impression that it had barely changed since it was built. She used the same 1930s aesthetic but updated the two bathrooms in terms of function. The colors were fabulous — slightly acidic in some cases, but always incredibly bold and vibrant — and they were often liberally juxtaposed with black. (House Beautiful)
