The Perelman Center integrated the UPHS surgery, cardiology, and cancer departments under one roof in a five-story, U-shaped facility that wraps around a transparent, eight-story atrium. A wood-clad volume suspended from the top of the atrium houses two stories of conference rooms and executive offices. Sited at the termination of 34th Street, the atrium provides the focal point for the building entrance and serves as a prominent urban landmark.
