Architect Ehrick Rossiter began building the Rocks, his residence in Washington, CT, in 1887, and his design flourishes, like the ornately carved wood seen here, came to define the look of shingle-style country homes in the Gilded Age.
The Rocks is the home of the art collectors Steven and Kathy Guttman, who bought it in 2015. Interior designer Daniel Sachs worked on the project with his partner, the architect Kevin Lindores.
