The Hawaii State Capitol Building epitomizes what is know as Hawaiian international architecture – an adaptation of the modernistic Bauhaus style that dominated during early to mid 20th century. The building was designed by Belt, Lemon and Lo in collaboration with John Carl Warnecke and Associates, and it opened in March 1969.
